Pandemic and Major Gifts An Equation with Many Unknowns
In the context of the pandemic, many organizations are seeing an increase in demand for services jux...
Created in 2011, the Blue Bridge Foundation for Children arose from the desire of Blue Bridge employees to improve the education, health and well-being of underprivileged, abandoned or orphaned children in Canada and throughout the world.
Blue Bridge together with its partners and network strive to intervene with concrete actions. We prioritize the funding of sustainable projects such as the renovation of a building or the implementation of educational or medical equipment. This allows us to monitor the investment and enjoy the successful realization of the project.
During its years of operation, the Blue Bridge Foundation for Children has overseen many projects including :
Our first initiative, took place in August 2011 at Le Saisonnier summer camp located in Lac-Beauport, near Quebec City. A week of summer camp was donated to children between the ages of 11 and 12 from underprivileged families in Montreal. This exceptional camp offered many recreational and sporting activities to children who had never experienced such a vacation.
In autumn 2012, the Montreal and European offices of Blue Bridge organised a drive to donate clothing and other supplies for children under the age of eight. This operation allowed us to send over a thousand pieces of clothing and over 350 toys to the Red Cross orphanage in Da Nang, Vietnam.
The Nunavut territory’s high rate of school dropouts compelled the Foundation to act in November 2013 by offering iPads to the school board of Kativik in order to make learning more interesting and interactive for children.
Commencing in the summer 2015, the Foundation and the Sailing School of Lachine collaborate to offer a unique experience to underprivileged kids: two weeks of sailing camp.
Also since summer 2015, the Blue Bridge Foundation helps the non-profit organization Ruelle de l’avenir every year by donating funding for their entrepreneurial component, Ruelle potagère. This initiative provides young high school students with an introduction to the worlds business and agriculture by cultivating and transforming the fruits of their labour into products such as fine herbs, soaps, essential oils, cookies and muffins. These products are them offered for sale at their kiosk at Atwater Market, Montreal.
There are so many children who can benefit from our help. It is no small feat, but the Foundation is up for the challenge. By donating to a foundation such as ours, you’ll be helping finance an experience that can have lifelong benefits to a child. With the help of individual contributions we can make a difference in a child’s life together.
The Blue Bridge Foundation for Children is a charitable organization recognized by the Canadian authorities. This allows us to issue tax receipts for cash or in-kind donations.
